The king bed is dressed for deep, intentional rest because a good vacation starts with a good night's sleep. For your fourth guest or a little extra flexibility, a rollaway full-size bed tucks into the living space, keeping things cozy without feeling crowded.

After a day on the ATV trails or a slow morning doing absolutely nothing, your private hot tub is waiting. Let the jets work out the tension you didn't even know you were carrying. This is where the body finally says yes. Night soaks under the Northwoods sky are something you'll be talking about long after you've gone home.

The Remington House sits in the heart of Arbor Vitae — a quiet, wooded community tucked between Woodruff and Minocqua in the Wisconsin Northwoods. The area is surrounded by hundreds of lakes, miles of ATV and snowmobile trails, and the kind of deep pine forest that makes you forget what day it is. You're in lake country here. Big Arbor Vitae Lake is just minutes away with a public boat launch about 3 miles from the property. The Chain of Lakes — one of the most beloved waterway systems in the Midwest — is easily accessible for boating, fishing, kayaking, and swimming. Minocqua is your go-to town, roughly 10–15 minutes away, with excellent dining, boutique shopping, ice cream, and nightlife on the water. For a more low-key night, Northern Waters Distillery is less than 5 minutes from the house and is a guest favorite. Norwood Pines Supper Club offers a classic Northwoods dining experience just down the road. The neighborhood itself is peaceful and private — mostly seasonal and full-time lake homes, very little traffic, and surrounded by trails. It's the kind of place where neighbors wave, wildlife wanders through, and the night sky is genuinely dark enough to see stars.

A car is essential — this is rural Northwoods Wisconsin and distances between spots are real. Most guests find that once they arrive, they barely leave the property, but when you do venture out, here's what to know:
Roads in the area are a mix of paved county highways and gravel forest roads. All are easily navigable in a standard vehicle. In winter, roads are plowed regularly but plan for slower travel and keep an eye on conditions — 4WD or AWD is helpful but not required.
Minocqua (your main hub for groceries, restaurants, and shopping) is about 10–15 minutes by car. Woodruff is even closer for quick errands. Gas stations, a pharmacy, and basic supplies are all within a short drive.
ATV and snowmobile trails connect directly to the area — if you're bringing a sled or side-by-side, you're in the right place. Check current trail conditions with the Vilas County trail system before heading out.
Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) is available but limited in availability — don't count on it for time-sensitive plans. If you're planning a night out in Minocqua, it's worth arranging a designated driver or booking a local car service in advance.
